Testimonials

  • This was a remarkable course start to finish. I would have preferred no 'finish'.Currently enrolled in a graduate online program, my experience had been one of an anonymous feeling, posting to boxes, unable to capture that 'bricks and mortar' feeling of attending school. This course showed me that it can be done another way. Students mingled well, often as if we were having coffee together on campus sharing our thoughts.

To say that I enjoyed the class would not be enough. To say that I learned from it would also not be enough. No, this class was one of those rare, once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that actually changed my life. Far from offering videos of a bunch of staid lectures, the course harnesses the power of the Web to connect us to people from all over the world who are interested in this subject. In keeping with the teachings of the course, I am profoundly grateful.

This was certainly the best online learning experience
    I have participated in.
The quality of the video lectures; access to supporting literature; opportunity to participate in discussion forums; the reflective learning activities provided a rich learning experience. I have really benefited from the course content - it has reinforced my commitment to personal happiness. Thank you - I'm going to miss 'tuning in'.

The course is one of the best things I have ever done for myself. The unexpected outcome is that at 51 I intend to study Psychology full-time at University next year. I entered this course with some trepidation. The electronic format, the content and the size of the group were all new and overwhelming for me at first. What a fabulous, varied and supportive bunch of people from all over the world I turned out to be involved with.

I feel like I am part of a class even though I am sitting at my computer...I will often participate when the time fits in around 3 busy kids and a full time job, when I do attend the course I feel like time is irrelevant.

The Discussion boards [have been my favorite part of the course] - I am getting a wealth of insights and information. The Facilitators are wonderful - they pose thought provoking questions and engage in the discussions. Excellent!

Weekly reflections and course blogs [have been my favorite part of the course]. It's wonderful getting feedback from other participants and especially the facilitators.

It was a really interesting and cool way of taking a class.Great course, learned a ton and much more interactive than I had originally thought and I will definitely look into taking another online class again!

I am really enjoying taking this class online. I think it is even better than the regular semester. I like that we get to interact with each other instead of just listening to the professor talking. I also like the smaller setting because our questions get answered immediately.

I was impressed by the technology of the whole set up. I think that this should be kind of exciting. I think Prof. Rimmer mentioned it yesterday in class, but it's pretty crazy that there are so many people around the world logging in to this class... must be tough for those of you who have to be up for 630am...

The interactions with other, amazing, intelligent and insightful individuals from around the world has been a real highlight of the course. I had never thought about interactions with others and I thought I would just log in study, log out. I plan to keep in contact with the group and personally with a number of people. It is a brilliant social/professional network of intelligent like-minded individuals, with global perspectives.
